Creation

Unipartite creation

One entity is involved in the asset creation process.

For example:

  • An artist creates an asset representing their art collection on the blockchain with a non-fungible token.

  • An asset manager creates an asset representing their fund on the blockchain with a fungible token.

Bipartite creation

Two distinct entities are involved in the asset creation process.

For example:

  • An artist asks an auction house to create an asset representing their art collection. The auction house, on behalf of the artist, creates and maintains it on the blockchain using a non-fungible token.

  • An asset manager asks a transfer agent to create an asset representing their fund. The transfer agent, on behalf of the asset manager, creates and maintains it on the blockchain using a fungible token

Tripartite creation

Three distinct entities are involved in the asset creation process.

For example:

  • An artist’s agent asks an auction house to create an asset representing their client’s art collection. The request is approved by the artist before being submitted to the auction house. The auction house creates and maintains it on the blockchain using a non-fungible token.

  • An asset manager’s legal counsel asks a transfer agent to create an asset representing their client’s fund. The request is approved by the asset manager before being submitted to the transfer agent. The transfer agent creates and maintains it on the blockchain using a fungible token.
