Operations

An operation refers to any event or process resulting in the generation of one or many transactions.

There are two main different types of operation in Codefi Assets: orders and events.

Orders

An order is an instruction submitted from an entity to buy or sell a token. There are two types of orders in Codefi Assets: primary market orders and secondary market orders.

After a user places an order, it appears in the order section of the Codefi Assets platform.

Issuers can also create orders directly on behalf of an entity to record orders that have been made outside of Codefi Assets.

Events

An event is an action that occurs in the life of a token, usually initiated by the issuer but not exclusively.

For example, if an issuer of an existing token distributes benefits to token holders, updates the price of a token, or chooses to update token details, such actions are commonly referred to as events.

Many types of events exist and will exist in Codefi Assets. For now there are four main groups of events we support: distribution, price updates, redemptions, and notice.
